I'll start off talking about Paris, France the place I was born. Although I don't remember anything, it is still a fun fact I like about myself. I later moved to London where my sister was born. Also, where we stayed for about three years, before moving to New Jersey in the United States of America, where both my Mom and Dad lived.
I lived in the US for 7 years where I feel I truly grew up. I lived in Fair-Haven New Jersey and also had a beach house in Surf City Long Beach Island where I still have a house today. My connection to the beach is very strong. Long Beach Island is where I found out I was moving to Singapore, because of my Dads job. I'll admit, at the time I didn't even know what Singapore was, and I was sad to leave all the friends I made.
We ended up visiting Singapore a few months before we moved, and I was excited for the change. Singapore was a big change for me. I ended up not appreciating it as much as I should have. I was able to learn about different cultures in Singapore, it also helped that my family ended up traveling a good amount, which helped me be able to see the world. I also liked the fact that I could take Chinese in school. Being immersed in Asia and being able to try my ne Chinese skills on workers at some restaurants, was very cool.
I liked Singapore and my friends there, but when I was there I kept missing the US. I missed the sports I could play and the food I could eat. Now being back in the U.S. I really do miss Singapore and wish that I appreciated it more.
